Chronicle of Philanthropy
The Chronicle is a print and online news source for charity leaders, fundraisers, grantmakers
and other people involved in the philanthropic enterprise. In print, The Chronicle is published
biweekly; the online version includes articles from the print version (some require paid subscription
to access online) and daily updates.
Council on Foundations
This site by the national Council on Foundations, a membership
association of grantmaking foundations and corporations, offers basic
information on starting a private foundation or corporate giving
program, plus a helpful Community Foundation Locator that lets you
search for a community foundation near you.
Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers
The Forum's site offers basic information on charitable giving
links to regional philanthropic resources around the country. The Forum
manages New Ventures in Philanthropy, a multi-year initiative
aimed at increasing permanent philanthropic resources in the United
States.
The Foundation Center
This site offers comprehensive information on U.S. foundation giving,
and a weekly news service on philanthropy: Philanthropy News Digest.
Independent Sector
A national forum to encourage giving, volunteering, not-for-profit initiative and
citizen action.
National Center on Family Philanthropy
The Center focuses on matters of importance to families engaged in philanthropy and
their effective giving.
The Philanthropic Initiative, Inc.
The Philanthropic Initiative, Inc. (TPI) is a Boston-based not-for-profit organization
offering philanthropic design and management services to corporations, foundations,
individuals and families.
Philanthropy News Network
PNN publishes daily news on philanthropy and a free e-mail newsletter.
The Philanthropy Roundtable
The Philanthropy Roundtable is a national association of individual donors,
corporate giving representatives, foundation staff and trustees, and trust and estate
officers. Among the features of this site is selected articles from the
organizations bimonthly Philanthropy magazine.
Sharing the Wealth
This giving resource was produced by Minnesota Public Radio's
Sound Money radio program and Civic Journalism Initiative. The site
includes a five-step guide to charitable giving.
Women's Philanthropy Institute
The Women’s Philanthropy Institute at The Center on Philanthropy at
Indiana University was founded in 1997 to help women understand their full potential
and capabilities as financial donors, and to inspire women to fulfill
their philanthropic potential.
